Relationships
As if navigating the dating world wasn't hard enough, girls seem to be pretty picky when finding a guy to date. And along with finding someone who is funny, genuine, smart and ambitious, most girls want a boyfriend who is taller than them. Maybe it's so they don't feel self-conscious when wearing heels, but it's also to feel petite and protected by a male partner who is bigger and stronger than them – just as our primal instincts tell us it should be.
But there's tall, and then there's too tall. While being in a relationship with someone who is significantly tall has its perks (you'll never lose him at parties and he'll always be able to reach to the top of the shelf for you), there are a few other things you should know. Here are 12 of those things to keep in mind about being in a relationship with a tall guy.
1. You might get lucky when flying together
One glance at your beau towering over the check-in desk and you'll likely be upgraded to the exit row. Other times, you won't be as lucky, and you'll probably end up in the middle seat lending some of your own legroom because you'll feel bad for how squished his legs are.

2. There are a lot of forehead kisses involved
Awww yes it's sweet, but it's mainly because it's easier for him to swiftly kiss you on the forehead because it's right there and doesn't involve either of you contorting your spines to kiss on the lips.

3. You can wear your highest heels and still not be taller than him
You'll never have to worry about the silly old "oh but I don't want to look taller than my boyfriend" thing. YES!

4. Don't expect eye contact in bed
Okay, it's not that bad, but certain positions mean that you won't "line up" as easily, if you know what I mean.

5. You'll start getting tired of the jokes too
After a while, you'll start rolling your eyes every time someone asks him about the weather up there or if he plays basketball.

6. You'll probably need two blankets
There's no way that one can cover both of you and his feet, so chances are you're going to need to double up on the duvet.

7. Don't bother with clothes when thinking about gifts to buy him
Everything will look awkwardly cropped, so seriously, have him try stuff on first. Don't get too heartbroken though when you walk from store to store as he looks around with a forlorn face because he can't find a single top he likes that goes past his hips. Going shopping for him can be a depressing affair.

8. Couple selfies might be a challenge
He'll probably have to crouch and you'll need to get on your toes unless you want a lovely closeup of your forehead next to his chin.

10. A self-conscious tall guy can be a nightmare on movie or concert dates
He'll worry that he's blocking someone's view and so will probably prefer to stand at the back or slouch down in his seat.

11. You'll probably experience some neck pain
Especially when kissing – it's an art of balancing on your toes and craning your neck to lock lips, and he's probably doing a little bit of a hunched-over posture too. But it's really not that bad unless you're sustained in your embrace for a long time.

12. He probably won't like it when you borrow his car
Or lower the shower head or adjust the desk chair... these things are meticulously adjusted so as to cater for his long limbs, and getting it back to that just right position is super annoying if you have to do it again and again.
