Blake Lively shares first Instagram post since deleting everything

There's a lot of big stories going on the world right now; the two Koreas seem to have de-escalated tensions, Britain is exiting the EU and Donald Trump appears to be striking up a friendship with Kanye West - the man who is arguably the most influential artist on the planet. But, while these are huge stories in their own right, with them housing the potential to shape our very lives, they are nothing when you compare them to the fact that Blake Lively deleted her Instagram photos.

I know, I know, settle down. We are all still in shock at the news, with the majority of us checking her account first thing in the morning, clinging on to that slim glimmer of hope that this was a mistake. That, somehow, Lively will come back into our lives with her hilarious trolling of Ryan Reynolds, her enviable looks and her incredible self-styled red carpet appearances. However, it looks like the boycott will be going on for a little longer.

When Lively stripped her account, she changed her bio to "What happened to Emily?" and followed 36 people called Emily Nelson (leaving them pretty confused).

Lively even unfollowed her husband, who is very sad about it: "Yeah, she did. Very sad about that. Definitely stings. It’s a terrible way to find out that I’ve been kicked out of the house, to be honest. Absolutely terrible," Ryan joked in an interview, continuing, "'Mommy unfollowed Daddy on Instagram.' My child would just fart and then walk away."

It's believed that Lively's stripped back Instagram is in preparation for her latest movie, A Simple Favour. The film will co-star Anna Kendrick and is about a sophisticated woman called Emily Nelson who disappears.

The 30-year-old broke her Insta silence by posting a trailer for the film. In it, we see Kendrick running her hands over expensive clothing, Lively making out with some random guy and martinis being made.

Anna's voiceover says, "I do consider Emily my best friend. She's this wonderful, elegant person. Everybody has a dark side. Some of us are better at hiding it than others.

"Five days ago, Emily went missing. I'm realising I don't know her as well as I thought I did.

"Emily, if you're out there, we're all really worried."

The final shot shows a red-headed Lively smiling wryly into the camera, suggesting that there is more to her character than meets the eye.

Of course, given that this marks the return of Lively to Instagram, the post has been met with huge fanfare - garnering close to 1,000,000 plays and 20,000 comments. But annoyingly, it only gives us a vague clue as to when we can expect the film to come out and - potentially - see Lively's Instagram restored to its former glories. The closing credits read, "What happened to Emily?" with "Coming Soon" written as our only hint to the release date.

While it may not be the Blake Lively posts we know and love, at least we know she's out there. Hopefully, her account will be restored once the film drops.
