Everyone missed a huge moment in the 'Game of Thrones' finale which shows Bran is not a Stark anymore

The final episode of Game of Thrones was pretty action-packed, and suffice to say that by the time the credits rolled, everything was different.

Spoilers ahead for those who haven't seen the finale yet, but the episode ended with Bran elected King of the Six Kingdoms (since the North had seceded to be ruled by Sansa) while Jon was exiled to the Night's Watch and Arya set sail to the west to see what lands lie beyond the sea. The idea that it would be Bran who would rule was one that few people saw coming.

However, a number of fans were troubled by this. Wouldn't the other lords be bothered by the fact that the Stark family holds too much power? Since Bran is a Stark and Sansa is a Stark as well, wouldn't a war between the two nations be likely, considering that Bran presumably has a claim to Sansa as well? Or maybe the other houses, paranoid about Stark supremacy, would rise up in rebellion?

If that's what you're worried about, then rest easy. Eagle-eyed fans have spotted a subtle detail in one scene of the finale, which seems to indicate that King Bran the Broken, the Three-Eyed-Raven, is no longer a Stark.

The scene in question occurs when Brienne is recording the deeds of Jamie Lannister in the book of the Kingsguard. Fans noticed that Bran’s new sigil can be seen on her breastplate: a raven, soaring through the sky. It seems odd that Bran would elect to choose a new sigil, and forgo his old family name. But then again, just consider the fact that in episode two of season eight he tells Jamie: "I’m not Bran Stark. I'm something else now."
