Mulled wine hair is the best beauty trend this winter

It's safe to say that the beauty industry has gone berserk in recent years. Putting aside our enduring love of extreme contouring and highlighting, 2017 has seen a plethora of trends so bizarre, and so unwearable that they somehow remain lodged at the top of our social media pages, championed by some of our favourite beauty bloggers.

I mean, you must have been living under a rock if you haven't seen the ladies of the internet donning nose hair extensions, McDonald's eyebrows and tinsel eyelashes, alongside more innocuous (but still out-there) styles such as floral eyeliner and now... mulled wine hair.

Yes, you heard that correctly - your favourite festive drink has had the Rachel Green makeover and is being sported all over the world on top of people's heads. Now, while this may sound rather ludicrous, rest assured that this is one trend that is not only completely wearable, but it's also 100 percent Instagramable too. I mean, just take a look at some of these lovely vino-inspired hair shades, they're sure to have you running to the hair salon for a refresh on your existing 'do.

If you're not familiar with the wonderful alcoholic beverage that is mulled wine, it's a festive drink that is made from wine, oranges and spices such as cinnamon and cloves. Consumed warm, it's a godsend on those bitterly cold days when you just want to snuggle up by a roaring fire, book in hand. And who would have known that we'd find a beauty look equivalent of everyone's favourite festive drink? Not me, that's for sure.

As you can see, mulled wine hair isn't as unwearable as you first may have thought. And the trend is highly customisable because there are so many different tones and depths to choose from, you will definitely be able to find the perfect hue to suit your complexion.

Mulled wine hair is reddish and purple in colour and contains plenty of other rich tones and highlights. It's a daring look for sure, but if you can pull it off, there's really no going wrong. As these wonderful ladies of the internet show, it is the statement hairdo of the festive season.

Now, I don't know about you but I'm 100 per cent booking in a session at the hair salon after having a look at these images. The only problem with mulled wine hair, however, is that it immediately makes me want to start drinking wine, and of course, indulge in a cheese board to boot.

If changing up your hair colour isn't your thing, don't fret. There are plenty other beauty trends you can partake in to show your commitment to the festive season. Fancy decorating your boobs to really make your Christmas party ensemble really stand out? A bizarre new trend has seen women jazzing up their breasts for Christmas.
