Jessica Biel fell asleep during Justin Timberlake's birthday celebrations and the video is hilarious

Jessica Biel and Justin Timberlake are one of Hollywood's finest golden couples. The pair, who wed back in 2012, have quite the love story. But while they immediately bonded over their shared sense of humour, it took them a while to get things going after that.

"When I met Jess, it was undeniable how beautiful she is. I made some sort of sarcastic comment, really dry. Nobody got it except her," Justin wrote in his new book, Hindsight: & All the Things I Can't See in Front of Me. "She laughed, and I noticed, all of a sudden, and in the way where you wonder if a person’s like you, if they have a very dry, dark sense of humour, too."

But despite the obvious connection, the Mirrors singer didn't ask for the actress's number, and he had to summon some serious courage before he saw her again at a show during his FutureSex/LoveSounds tour. "I had to psych myself up," he revealed. "had to remind myself that I was me—giving myself a pep talk, shadow boxing with myself, rubbing my own shoulders."

Now, however, it's an entirely different story. I mean, Jessica actually fell asleep during a date night... On Justin's birthday.

Luckily, Justin didn't seem to mind, and did what we all would have done in the same scenario: film the entire thing.

He didn't let his wife snooze through the entirety of his big day, however. He gently woke her up by singing himself Happy Birthday.

"Gotta work tomorrow for my bday so wifey really going all out tonight..." he captioned the video, which was posted to Instagram.

"I’m just preparing for our big night out. Just preparing!” Jessica explained smiling, after she was woken up.

So, how did the pair end up together? Justin finally got Jessica's number on the night of his concert - and they started dating - though they weren't monogamous at first. "We were both still seeing other people, keeping ourselves safe from getting hurt, from really putting ourselves out there," the singer explained. "It took a bit for both of us to admit to ourselves that we were really, really into each other."

The pair decided to be exclusive after spending a month together following Justin's return from a trip overseas.

"We’ve had a lot of unforgettable times," the 38-year-old continued. "She’s become a huge influence on my life, and I have such an admiration for her, especially seeing her as a mother now. She’s a very good writer. She’s a poet. She’s a tremendous actor. She’s funny. Very funny. And she’s one of the most patient people I’ve ever met… She changed me. She changed my life."

"It’s as simple as having someone there to open that pickle jar when you can’t get it open and as complicated as deciding to be in each other’s lives forever," Jessica told People in a 2012 interview about deciding to tie the knot with Justin. "That kind of commitment is very special, and we were ready to jump."

Jessica and Justin welcomed their first child, Silas, in 2015.
