Between contending with sleep deprivation, the rollercoaster of emotion which follows the initial rush of oxytocin, and becoming a veritable boob banquet to boot, it's clear that new mothers don't have enough time to consider their own needs, let alone that of their relationship.
This, of course, only becomes worse when you have a global platform like Khloé Kardashian. The reality television star gave birth to her first child, True, amidst rumours that her boyfriend, Tristan Thompson, had been cheating on her with a series of women while she was pregnant. But since then, the 33-year-old has remained tight-lipped on the current state of her relationship, in fact, all we know is that Khloé has decided to remain in Cleveland, where the professional basketball player is based.
Thankfully, momager Kris Jenner has revealed some details about what's been going down in the Kardashian-Thompson household since the cheating allegations came to light.
Speaking to US Weekly, Kris opened up about how Khloé and Tristan were finding parenthood, and she also touched on the state of their relationship. "Tristan, yeah. He’s great. Yeah, he’s good. I think you just have to be there for your kid and follow their lead," the Keeping Up With The Kardashians star disclosed.
Saying that she trusts her daughter to make the right decision, she demurred: "I’m not in that relationship or in that situation, so I really trust Khloé. She’s so smart, and such a great girl, and she’ll figure it out."
"I don’t think she’s back yet," Kris revealed when quizzed on whether Khloé plans to move back to Los Angeles, where her family are based. "When she comes back, I’ll be thrilled, yes, of course. I miss her. I need to get my hands on that little True."
"I’ve been there a couple times. And we FaceTime every day. So it’s a lot of fun."
And not to worry - Khloé has remained close to her four sisters - two of whom also recently gave birth. "I think they all ask each other for advice, like you would your girlfriends or anybody else, and I think they have a great support system," Kris said. "We all come to each other. It depends on what’s going on that day, which is wild, as you can imagine on a daily. I think it just depends on what’s going on."
Despite the media storm that has engulfed Khloé's pregnancy and relationship for the past few months, it's apparent from her blog that she's not letting the drama affect her experience of motherhood. Writing on her website, she revealed that since giving birth to True, she's felt like there's something new and exciting around every corner, and that she's constantly finding energy that she didn't know she had.
"I think what surprises me most is no matter how tired you are, you find this energy and patience for your child", Khloé asserted. "You know that babies are so helpless and they rely on you for everything. So something just takes over and you find the energy to care for this helpless precious baby."
You do you, Khloé!
