Lady Gaga finally breaks silence on Bradley Cooper rumours after 'steamy' Oscars performance
Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga's rather intimate rendition of Shallow certainly set tongues a-wagging. The pair played star-crossed lovers, Jackson Maine and Ally in A Star is Born, which went onto win the Academy Award for Best Original Song. And their performance was widely dissected on social media, due to the eye-contact and proximity between the pair, who shared a microphone and a small piano bench.
People on social media were quick to speculate whether the co-stars were more than just friends, and even Tiffany Haddish chimed in on the debate. "I was like, ‘Are they doing it?’ It was so good," the 39-year-old told Entertainment Tonight at the Vanity Fair Oscar party. "That was hot!"

Now, Gaga has opened up about the now-iconic performance, and all the chatter surrounding it.
"First of all, social media, quite frankly, is the toilet of the Internet," she asserted during her appearance on Jimmy Kimmel. "And what it has done to pop culture is abysmal. And people saw love, and guess what, that's what we wanted you to see." She added: "That is what we wanted you to see. This is a love song. It is a love story and we worked so hard. I knew he had the vision for how it should go."
Dispelling the rumours of an affair once more, the singer-cum-actress pointed out the parallels between her previous work with Tony Bennett. "From a performance perspective, it was so important to both of us that we were connected the entire time. Look, I've had my arms wrapped around Tony Bennett for three years touring the world. When you're singing love songs, that's what you want people to feel," she continued
The Oscars performance was the first time that Gaga has been seen in public since splitting from her fiancée, Christian Carino. She walked the red carpet alone, while her co-star arrived with his mother, Gloria, and longtime girlfriend, Irina Shayk.
During her Oscars acceptance speech, Gaga described her co-star as a "true friend";
