Miley Cyrus uploaded a video of Liam Hemsworth pranking her in the car and it's hilarious

Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively often take the crown for the most beloved celebrity couple, and it's probably because they're not only talented and beautiful, but because they're not afraid to show the playful side of their relationship. They're constantly teasing and trolling each other on social media, which comes as a refreshing break from the usual lovey-dovey stuff we see from our favourite pairings.

But let's take a second to turn to another couple, and appreciate that they're keeping things real for their fans too. Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth have been on-and-off for almost a decade, and after being through a lot together, it seems that they're totally at ease with each other. The Malibu singer uploaded a video of the two of them driving, and Liam used it as an opportunity to prank his girlfriend. It's a typical move for any mischievous boyfriend, and it's hilarious.

On a sunny day over the weekend, Miley and Liam hit the road to drive somewhere together. The Hunger Games star took the wheel, and Miley decided to film the pair of them as they sat together listening to music in the car. It was a pretty cute moment, with Miley and Liam doing the car-hand-dance to the beat, not talking but still enjoying each other's company.

However, in classic boyfriend fashion, Liam decided it would be funny to disrupt the picture-perfect video Miley was shooting. Without warning, Liam shouted "OH SH*T!" and lunged at Miley to knock the camera out of focus. His prank to sabotage Miley's lovely #CoupleGoals vid worked, and it's pretty funny.

She uploaded the video to an Instagram story and wrote: "hate when he does this sh*t", implying that he does it a lot, which – yup – he does. (I feel I should add a disclaimer here and say that people should keep their eyes on the road while driving and not try antics like Liam).

Another video upload from 2016 shows Miley filming another peaceful drive with Liam. Her beagle Barbie was on her lap as they sang to Justin Bieber's Love Yourself: Miley with her dulcet tones, and Liam clearly thinking it would be hilarious to sing along in a rather more, er, unmelodious fashion.

Their (awful) duet is pretty funny, but when Liam bursts out with another unexpected shout, Miley turns to him and says "Babe, stop! Seriously!" He sure knows how to ruin the mood, but at least we all got a laugh out of it.

It's adorably reminiscent of their scene in The Last Song where Liam's character compliments Miley's on her singing before chiming in with his own, less audibly pleasing tones.

It was on the set of this Nicolas Sparks adaptation that the couple met in 2009. Since then, they dated, broke up and got back together again a few times before announcing their engagement in 2012.

But just a year later, the couple called their engagement off. They stayed friends while dating other people, but ultimately, they ended up getting back together around two years ago. Miley revealed in an interview on SiriusXM’s Hits 1 radio channel that she's grateful for their big breakup because it made them stronger as individuals.

"I didn’t know if that was the end of it or know if we’d be back together again, but knew that wherever I was going, I was on the right path," she said in 2017.

"You get time to be yourself. You get time to grow up. I think if you’re growing up attached to another person, you never really get solid as your own being. So I’m really solid, and then he gets to be really solid. And together we get to be two really grounded people. It’s not a half and a half making a whole."

Well, with her attitude towards breakups and their adorable car-ride antics, it seems this couple is doing better than ever.
