Singer P!nk has hit back at dissenting commenters online, after some people saw fit to criticise a photo of her two-year-old son, labelling the trolls "disgusting".
It all came after the 39-year-old posted a picture of her son to Instagram, but crucially, the picture of Jameson Moon near a swimming pool had the toddler not wearing a swim diaper. People noticed, but you can't see the original post because P!nk (born Alecia Beth Moore) deleted it.
She uploaded this instead:
"There’s something seriously wrong with a lot of you out there," P!nk began angrily on her Instagram post, revealing the reason that trolls had targeted her two-year-old son. "Going off about my baby’s penis? About circumcision??? Are you for real?" added a clearly bemused P!nk, before going on to slam the trolls further.
"As any normal mother at the beach, I didn’t even notice he took off his swim diaper. I deleted it because you’re all f**king disgusting. And now I’m turning off my comments and shaking my head at the state of social media and keyboard warriors, and the negativity that you bring to other people’s lives.
There is something seriously wrong with a lot of you out there."
"Here’s a picture of the pelican we obviously caught and abused for hours before dangling baby penis in its face," said the singer, finishing off her post with some sarcasm, but her tirade was well-supported on Instagram, on other posts (P!nk disabled comments on her pelican post).
Take, for example, user @dannygirl57:
"Wow.. I guess I didnt [sic] examine the pelican photo because I didn't even notice that Jameson didnt [sic] have any bottoms on... I noticed a cute photo of a mama and her babies enjoying a moment in life... those who saw anything more than that need their heads checked!!!! Keep doing u [sic]!!"
"GOOD LORD! I saw your pelican post.. the initial one and didn’t even notice anything. People are disgraceful," added @jenniferspaz, but it's just another example of P!nk's loving and affectionate parenting style, as she explained in a 2018 interview.
"The thing about parenting is you never know if anything you’re doing is working," she said to PEOPLE at the time. "That’s been the most humbling thing for me. In my head, I sound amazing and then I turn around and her eyes are completely glazed over. I have no idea. We’ll see."
"I believe in affection. I believe in needs being met and faith being implemented, and I believe in letting your kids know they can count on you, and that you’ll be there. My parents obviously did not believe in that and I worked out okay. I always tell [seven-year-old daughter] Willow, 'I’m going to teach you the rules so that you’ll know how and when to break them.'"
P!nk shares her two children with husband Carey Hart, 43, who she has been married to since the year 2006.
