As the cliché goes, your wedding day is supposed to be one of the happiest days of your life. It does, after all, mark the moment you make your most important commitment - to spend the rest of your life with the person you love most in the world.
But while tying the knot may symbolise something beautiful and incomparably sentimental, in many ways, it's just another tradition with all sorts of rigid expectations and customs.
Sure, there have certainly been a number of weddings which have ventured outside of the norm - brides wearing pantsuits, for instance - but have you ever heard of a bride carrying an edible bouquet down the aisle?
A bouquet of donuts, in fact?
Well, apparently that's a thing - or, at the very least, it's been done before. Yep, on her wedding day, Australian bride, Paige Kirk, walked down the aisle with a bouquet of donuts.
This is the moment Paige told her bridesmaids they'd be walking down the aisle with donut bouquets!
The 23-year-old ordered the donut bouquet - decorated in ivory icing to match her dress - from Australian-based bakery, Dessert Boxes.
Dessert Boxes specialises in unique dessert creations, particularly bouquet-based treats.
And it gets even better - the bridesmaids got their own matching donut bouquets. Incredibly, not one member of the wedding party gave into temptation and had a sneaky bite of the mouthwatering creation, even after the ceremony was over.
"We had plenty of goodies beforehand so we were too full too eat them," the bride told the BBC.
Paige and her husband Steven had been together for three years before they tied the knot. "We wanted the wedding to be a bit different and really reflect who we are as a couple," she said.
Well, I think we can all agree that if "different" was what they were aiming for, they certainly achieved their goal.
Congrats to the happy couple!
