As anyone who uses public transport will know, the subway is the sort of environment where literally anything and everything can happen. And that isn't a good thing.
In just the course of one day, for example, commuters can be treated to four-piece bands playing awful music in train carriages, drunken partygoers falling over every time the tube speeds up, and screaming babies crying their lungs out because - just like the rest of us - they don't want to be there.
But it's not always that way.
Just last week, in fact, one New York resident named Loiba Maria felt like she'd hit the subway jackpot when she took her seat on the E train - only to realize that she was face-to-face with a world famous model.
At first, Maria couldn't quite place the guy, but she knew she recognized him from somewhere.
"Rarely do you see a supermodel ride the subway train," she said in an interview with Buzzfeed. "I [could] tell he’s a fashion model because of what he was wearing."
She then spent some time staring at him - partly because she thought his face was familiar, but also because he was smokin' hot. "I was trying to figure out who he was," she said.
However, she didn't think she'd be able to jog her memory by the time her stop came around, so she took a picture for future reference. Well, ok, not just one picture - some pictures. Actually, make that a lot of pictures. In fact, according to Buzzfeed, Maria had pretty much an entire camera roll of the man.
Later on, she saw a Facebook post from Nyle DiMarco, a winner of America's Next Top Model, and realized it was the same guy. So, of course, she let him know she'd seen him.
Unfortunately for her, he'd known about her not-so-sneaky snapping the entire time.

Not only did the model respond to Maria directly, he also provided evidence of her in the act - and many people on Twitter were quick to point out how blatant she was in her attempt to subtly get a pic of DiMarco.
However, DiMarco also pointed out that he was not exactly the best at concealing his photography antics either.
The ANTM winner - who also competed on Dancing With The Stars - is deaf, and claims that his lack of hearing means that his sense of sight is heightened. According to him, his eyes are "very alert", and this ability meant that he was "immediately" able to notice Maria's camera pointed at him.
"I thought of Cole Sprouse always doing the same to people not discreetly taking pictures so I decided to pull a Cole Sprouse move," he told Buzzfeed.
But, of course, he wasn't at all mad about the incident.
"I love this story so much and wish we had the chance to take a selfie!" he said.
So, maybe Maria did feel a little humiliated at being caught out by the hottie she was trying to take a picture of - but at least she can say he has a shot of her on his phone, too.
