Woman tried to kill boyfriend with samurai sword after finding Tinder on his phone

A woman attempted to kill her boyfriend in his sleep by repeatedly stabbing him with a samurai sword after she found that he had downloaded Tinder on his phone, according to a court in Washington, USA.

31-year-old Emily Javier revealed to police that she had been planning the attack for a week after becoming suspicious that her partner, 30-year-old Alex Lovell, had been cheating on her.

She alleged to not only have found dating app, Tinder, on his phone, but also strands of red hair in their shower drain. It all came to a head, however, when she said that her boyfriend of two years came home one evening and refused to speak to her. "I was trying to kill him for cheating. That was my purpose," Javier told law enforcement, per an affidavit.

Police discovered Lovell on March 3rd 2018 with life-threatening injuries at their home in Camas, Washington. Officers could not determine how many times he was stabbed as he had suffered so many slash wounds. Several of his fingers later had to be reattached.

Javier allegedly waited until they were both in bed, and had turned off the lights, before she started attacking her partner.

She had taped the samurai sword to the side of the bed, along with two other knives. And she even went so far as to hide Lovell's phone so he couldn't call for help.

"I saw the look in her eyes, and it scared the living poop out of me," the victim later told The Columbian. "I told her I loved her, and she was killing me. She needed to call police, or I was going to die."

Javier then called 911, telling the emergency dispatcher: "I  just stabbed my boyfriend. He's dying, you've got to hurry up. I stabbed him. You need to hurry, I think he's dead!"

When asked where she stabbed Lovell, the woman simply replied "everywhere!"

This week, Javier pleaded guilty to attempted first-degree domestic violence murder. She is due to be sentenced in March of this year, and could potentially face up to 20 years in prison, per The Columbian.

Lovell, who is an avid video gamer, suffered a cut on his right foot, as well as a laceration on his left knee which required a metal plate to be inserted to repair the bone. His right wrist was put in a cast, and he also sustained minor cuts on his torso and his head.

He credits his survival to his training as a competitive video game player, and his passion for martial arts movies. "I was just so proud for beating this samurai wannabe crazy lady with hate in her heart," he concluded. "She woke the dragon."

Lovell has a long journey to recovery ahead.
